Work for me!

Seeking a savvy, curious, NYC-based part-time editorial assistant to help me develop my brand as a freelance video journalist, writer, and host. Pay is $300 a week.

 

The chief tasks are to find me material to pitch and/or cover on a weekly basis, keep my day-to-day schedule up to date, and offer thoughtful feedback on my writing and reporting. A strong preference will be shown to candidates with editorial experience. I need someone with their finger on the pulse, who can guide me towards the stories I don't have the imagination to find on my own and help me figure out the angle on them. You may also need to shoot interviews (on an iPhone; this is easy).

 

You need to be unafraid to push back against my arguments and willing to point out where you think I am missing something.

 

We'll meet weekly to pitch ideas and check in daily during the week to strategize and make sure I am not just sitting on the internet shopping and watching people argue on Twitter. Keeping track of daily deliverables is the name of the game.
